ABOUT CONTEST
DEAR FOREIGN FRIENDS!
WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST DEDICATED TO NATIONAL UZBEK LANGUAGE DAY, CELEBRATING ANNUALLY ON OCTOBER 21.
The Contest is organized for foreign stakeholders in order to build capacity of awareness in the Uzbek Language abroad and increase the interest in Uzbek Language and Culture among international communities.
The subject of the Contest are posters, photographs, drawn/painted pictures, essays and video clips devoted to the Uzbek language and the awareness of the foreign citizens in Uzbek language, culture and history.
Participants of the Contest can be only foreign citizen, regardless of age and nationality.
TO PARTICIPATE IN CONTEST YOU SHOULD PREPARE AND SUBMIT ONE WORK FROM ONE OF THE SECTIONS.
Evaluation of creative works would be carried out in three areas.

Contest of posters, drawings and photos – “Uzbek language in my life” or “Uzbek language in my country”
Essay or THESis
Essay Contest – “Uzbekistan through my eyes” (in Uzbek) (500 words in .docx format)

Video Contest “I speak Uzbek...” (2 minutes maximum)

ALL THE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE AWARDED WITH CERTIFICATES OF PARTICIPATION.
1. The poster/photo must be submitted in JPEG, JPG, TIFF or PNG formats. The size of the graphic file should not exceed 15MB. The presence of the author himself/herself in the photo is mandatory.
2. The drawing/painted picture should be submitted on paper (canvas) or in electronic form (scan or photo) in JPEG, JPG, TIFF or PDF formats. The size of the graphic file should not exceed 15MB.
3. The photos, posters, drawing/painted pictures should contain information that clearly describes the author’s connection to Uzbekistan, Uzbek language, Uzbek culture, heritage, architecture or history.
4. The photos must be copyrighted.
5. Pictures containing trademark images or copyrighted elements of other author would not be accepted.
6. The image must not be distorted, overlapped, darkened, illuminated or inverted.
*All creative works should correspond to the Subject of the Contest dedicated to the Day of the Uzbek Language.
1. The work may contain a motivating text (slogan) reflecting the connection to the Uzbek Language and Culture, invoke to learn the Uzbek language or information about learning Uzbek in your country.
2. The essay/thesis should be written in Uzbek or should be translated into Uzbek language. An essay/thesis can be written in any literary style (journalistic, scientific and other).
3. The essay would be checked for plagiarism. Only the authors with own works can participate in the Contest.
*All creative works should correspond to the Subject of the Contest dedicated to the Day of the Uzbek Language.
1. Videos are accepted only in Uzbek. The size of the video should not exceed 2 minutes. Speechless video clips, as well as the video clips with subtitles can also participate in the contest. The presence of the author himself/herself in the video is mandatory.
2. Video clips should contain information that clearly describes the author's connection with Uzbekistan, Uzbek language, culture, heritage, architecture or history.
*All creative works should correspond to the Subject of the Contest dedicated to the Day of the Uzbek Language.
